Read the full biography →David Adedeji Adeleke was born on 21 November 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Lagos.
Known as OBO (Omo Baba Olowo, "son of a rich man"), he has had hit after hit since 2011.
Davido's debut album, Omo Baba Olowo (2012), carried the smash hit "Dami Duro" and won him Next Rated at The Headies.
In 2016 he signed with Sony Music and RCA, and founded his own label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).
"If" and "Fall" (2017) became continental anthems; "Fall" became the longest-charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history and passed 274 million YouTube views.
Other honours include the BET Award for Best International Act (2018), MOBO and MTV EMA Best African Act (2017), and the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (2023).
He sold out London's O2 Arena in 2019 and hosted his own A.W.A.Y festival in Atlanta in 2022.
In 2022 the family suffered the loss of their son, Ifeanyi, a tragedy that drew sympathy from across Nigeria.
Davido confirmed his marriage to Chioma Rowland in 2023 and the couple held a wedding ceremony in Lagos on 25 June 2024.
In 2024 he also co-founded Nine+ Records with UnitedMasters.
Estimates put Davido's net worth at about $100 million, making him one of Africa's richest musicians.
Davido was born on 21 November 1992. He is 33 and turns 34 in November 2026.
His latest studio album is 5ive, released in April 2025.
