Terms and conditions
Last updated: 17 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and [COMPANY NAME] (“askJBoss”, “we”). By creating an account or using askJBoss — on the website or in our apps — you agree to them.
1. Your account
- Give true information and keep your password safe. You are responsible for everything done with your account. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, keep that account secure too.
- You must be at least 13. You must be 18 or older to use the wallet, tips, promotions, adverts, Verified Premium, the Marketplace, bookings payments or withdrawals.
- One person, one account. Fake or duplicate accounts may be removed.
2. What you post
- You keep ownership of your content, but you give askJBoss a licence to show, store, share and promote it on askJBoss and in promoting askJBoss.
- Only post what you have the right to post. This includes photos, videos, music and audio — only upload music you created or have permission to share.
- Follow our Community guidelines. We review posts and may refuse, hide or delete content, and suspend accounts that break these terms.
- News headlines and summaries from other publishers are shown with credit and a link to the original. Their content remains theirs.
3. The Marketplace
- Anyone 18 or older can post an item for sale (“Sell on marketplace”); shops and companies can list products on a business page.
- Sellers must describe items honestly, own what they sell, and mark items as sold when they are sold. Items that are illegal or banned (see the Marketplace safety page) are removed.
- Sales happen directly between buyer and seller. askJBoss is not a party to the sale, does not hold payment and does not guarantee items. Meet in a safe public place, inspect items before paying, and never pay strangers in advance.
- Seller ratings must be honest and based on a real experience. Fake, paid or revenge ratings are removed, and we may remove any rating that breaks our guidelines.
- Marketplace alerts are a free convenience; we do not guarantee that every new item is alerted.
4. Wallet, tips, points and payments
- Wallet top-ups are processed by Paystack. Your wallet balance is not a bank account and earns no interest.
- Tips are gifts from one user to another. askJBoss keeps a service fee (shown before you pay); the rest goes to the receiver’s wallet. Tips are final.
- Reward points have no cash value except where we let you exchange them for wallet credit at the published rate. We may change or end the rewards programme, and remove points earned by cheating.
- Withdrawals go to a Nigerian bank account in your own name after checks. A fee may apply. We may delay or refuse withdrawals linked to fraud, chargebacks or breaches of these terms.
5. Promotions, adverts and paid features
- Promote, Highlight and Pin are paid services that show a post to more people. Anyone may promote any published post, including someone else’s; the post stays its author’s. A promotion does not change our rules — promoted posts that break them are removed.
- Adverts bought on the Advertise page must be honest and legal, and are reviewed before they run.
- Verified Premium, paid post types, music and film purchases are paid services. Prices are always shown before you pay.
- Inside our phone apps, some paid features are not available; you can use them on the website.
- See our Refund policy.
6. Businesses, bookings and jobs
Businesses are responsible for their listings, products, prices, services and bookings. askJBoss is not a party to bookings and does not guarantee goods or services. Employers must post real vacancies and may never charge applicants a fee — report any job that asks for money.
7. Live chat, messages and notifications
Be respectful in live chats and messages. We may remove messages, mute or suspend users who abuse others or spam. Notifications and alerts are sent as a convenience and may sometimes be delayed.
8. Liability
askJBoss is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, for content posted by users, or for dealings between users (including Marketplace sales, bookings and jobs). Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Nigerian consumer law (FCCPA 2018).
9. Changes and law
We may update these terms and will tell you about important changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Contact: support@askjboss.com.
