Genevieve appeared in the TV soap Ripples as a child and made her film debut with Most Wanted in 1998. Through the 2000s she became Nollywood’s biggest female star with dozens of hits, often playing strong, glamorous women.

- First winner of the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role (2005)

Lionheart
In 2018 she directed, co-wrote and starred in Lionheart, a comedy about a woman saving her father’s bus company. Netflix bought it — its first original film from Nigeria. It was later chosen as Nigeria’s first-ever Oscar submission but was disqualified because most of the dialogue is in English, which sparked a global debate about how Nigerian languages and English are used.
Private by choice
Genevieve is famously private and has stepped back from public life in recent years, but remains one of the most admired figures in African film.
Net worth and businesses
Her income has come from films, production, endorsements and her St. Genevieve clothing brand, which gives part of its proceeds to charity. Celebrity net worth figures online are mostly guesses — none of the big numbers you see are verified, so treat them with care.
