Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has finally apologised to her colleague, Laide Bakare.

In a post on her social media page, Badmus apologised, saying she came across as dismissive. She made it clear that whatever their differences are, she chose peace and genuinely wishes her well.

“On reflection, I realised my reaction when Laide Bakare’s name was mentioned during my recent interview could have come across as dismissive, and for that, I sincerely apologise.
Laide, whatever our differences, I choose peace, and I genuinely wish you well.

We’re all growing, learning and becoming better versions of ourselves. Sometimes maturity is simply knowing when to let go and move forward.

No negativity. No grudges. Let love lead, and peace reigns”.

Kemi Filani reported that Eniola made headlines during her recent interview with Isbae U over her reaction to the mention of Laide’s name.

Following the interview, Laide dragged Badmus for always damaging her character publicly. Calling Eniola an ingrate, she noted how she helped Eniola grow in life.

In a follow-up post, she took a swipe at Eniola, saying she doesn’t need surgery. Laide said she is too big to be brought down by her, and that Eniola’s 10 can’t match her.

Not done, she hopped on an interview and recounted helping Eniola financially, saying she used to give her money when Badmus was ugly and fat. Laide stressed that she used to help her when nobody wanted to use her in their movies because of her stature.

Last year, Laide recounted how Eniola embarrassed her at an event. She said she invested in Badmus for 20 years because of her love for the company, yet Eniola repaid her badly.

In 2023, Eniola and Laide had a public fallout after the former threw shade at her over her bizarre outfit to her book launch, comparing it to Pastor Adejara’s outfit, which didn’t sit well with Laide. Not one to take a shot lightly, Laide noted how Eniola and some of her colleagues don’t celebrate her when she wins but are always looking out for her mistakes.

Hitting back, Eniola reminded her of the time she shamed her for not having a child and family, and for supporting President Tinubu during the election. Sending a message to her, she made her know she wasn’t one to mess with as she loves violence.

The duo had attended the premiere of Eniola Ajao’s Owambe Thieves, where they were captured having an intense argument that almost led to a fight. In the clip, Eniola was captured walking into the event as Laide ran up to her and hurled words at her, but Eniola snubbed her. See video here.
