Popular designer Veekee James has sent a message to breastfeeding mums.
In a social media post, she advised new mums not to put themselves under the pressure and scrutiny of trying to lose their weight so fast.
Sharing her experience with breastfeeding, she informed pregnant women who believe they will lose their weight immediately after they give birth that it wouldn’t be so easy. She said they may need to wait till they are done breastfeeding.
“Breastfeeding mums no dey do weight loss
Exclusive breastfeeding mums no dey do weight loss.
If you’re pregnant and someone tells you Don’t worry, you will give birth and lose the weight, it’s a lie.
You go still wait another 9 to 12 months before you fit dream of doing weight loss.
I can’t go to work or go out because I dey find weight loss. Now my baby’s food has finished in the fridge, and I have to sit down in the house so I can breastfeed her from the factory”.
Kemi Filani reported earlier this year that she and her husband, Femi Atere, had welcomed their first child, a baby girl, Eliana Adeife Atere.
On her social media pages, she shared a video of her newborn’s birth story. The video captured her 48 hours of labour and delivery. The designer said that God took away her fear, came through for her, and gave them their princess.
Veekee tied the knot to Femi Atere, on Saturday, February 10, 2024. As expected, the wedding attracted many celebrities like Juliana Olayode, Eniola Ajao, Osas Ighodaro, Toke Makinwa, Priscilla Ojo, Pretty Mike, and many more. The fashion designer broke the internet by using a team of 200 choir members on her wedding day.
Unfortunately, her wedding was heavily criticised by many, who believed the celebrity designer was doing too much, and Daddy Freeze told Nigerians to allow the newly married rest.
