The character
Samuel Perry got the acting bug from his late father, a drama teacher. At UNILAG, where he studied creative arts, he tried out many comic characters before settling on Broda Shaggi — a fast-talking Lagos “area boy” with a big heart and a bigger voice.
Skits and music
His skits went viral on Instagram from around 2017, and his song “Oya Hit Me” mixed Afrobeats with fuji. He has released music with artists including Asake, Johnny Drille and Falz.
Film
He moved into film with roles in Aiyetoro Town, Fate of Alakada, Chief Daddy 2 and Something Like Gold, and won the AMVCA for Best Actor in a Comedy in 2022 and again in 2023.
Net worth and businesses
His income comes from skits, endorsements, shows, music and film. Celebrity net worth figures online are mostly guesses — none of the big numbers you see are verified, so treat them with care.
