Nollywood actress Ashabi has shared the lessons she learned after her public split with singer Portable.
In a recent social media post, she said she is proud that heartbreak didn’t make her stop believing in love.
According to her, her heartbreak taught her that the love she gives deserves to be reciprocated.
“I’m proud that heartbreak didn’t make me stop believing in love.
It just taught me that the love I give deserves to be reciprocated”.
In August, Ashabi, in a series of posts on social media, shared photos and clips from her date with a mystery man. She said the date felt good, and she needed to step out, breathe, laugh, and enjoy the moment without overthinking everything.
When a fan advised her to keep her relationship off social media, she responded, making it clear it was only a casual date and anyone who wasn’t happy about it should eat bitter leaf.
Ashabi’s last relationship was with controversial singer, Portable, who she shares two kids with.
The two fell out on New Year’s Day, after they engaged in a heated argument, as Ashabi told the singer to kill her.
Portable claimed that Ashabi came to his house to attack his family. He claimed that his then-pregnant wife was beaten mercilessly, and further claimed Ashabi’s mother accused him of using charm on her daughter.
Ashabi spoke up for herself, narrating what happened. She alleged that he brought out an axe and forcefully took all their phones, gave her younger brother a blow in his eye, and slapped her younger sister, which left her seeking safety in his office.
While speaking about her love life, she described Portable as a narcissist, noting how one can’t predict his next move, especially when he is the jealous type and has anger issues. She said she wakes up every day thinking about how best to manage him.
